We are husband and wife
Hey there, thank you for visiting “My MBA project”. We are husband and wife – Francis and Nicola, respectively, who share a passion for learning and are shamelessly competitive.
How it started
This project started when Francis studied for his MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) to document what he had learned in the program. Married to a competitive wife, Nicola joined him on this project to share what she learned from the short courses she took and the books she read.
The Project Team
It’s a small but (very) competitive (to each other) team.

Francis Ayan
Group Manager | EMBA Candidate
After 19 years in the Structural Engineering industry, which took him to live and work in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia, he decided to pursue his Executive MBA. This led him to launch the “My MBA Project”. Francis loves to travel and has been to over 50 countries, a passion shared with his wife. He follows a few sports religiously, including the NBA, MMA, and Boxing.

Nicola Ayan
VP, GTM Strategy | guest author
Nicola has not completed an MBA program but has taken several short Harvard Business School Online courses, which she prefers over an MBA (for now?). Her entire career has been in technology, primarily digital. She currently leads the Go-To-Market strategy for a B2B software company. Nothing motivates Nicola more than a competition with her husband, be it the number of books read, or blog posts written.
Our north star
This project’s north star is to inspire as many men and women as possible to seek continuous learning and development and to secretly create a platform where husband and wife can compete to see who can read the most books and write the most blog posts.
We believe that all men and women should pursue lifelong learning. We never used to be geeks regarding books and courses and only found a passion for them during COVID-19. The experience taught us, however, how one can be transformed through education, whether that’s an MBA, short course, book, or a podcast.
Finally, we should not only pursue learning but also share it. Your retention rate is higher when you share, and you make the world a better place.
